Medellín is gorgeous at night – located in the Aburra Valley (“Valle de Aburrá”), when you’re high, such as on your way to/from Rionegro or at the Tesoro mall, the view of the valley and the surrounding mountains is spectacular – when you’re low in the valley, such as in El Poblado, the view of the surrounding mountains is very impressive, too – main thing Medellín is missing is the sea, although thankfully it’s not too far away (e.g., Cartagena, Capurganá, Santa Marta). If it’s helpful, I’ve been organizing a lot of information about Medellín at http://www.amanado.com/ (e.g., jargon of the paisas/locals of Antioquia, places, schools, music/dance, health).

Love this picture and loving Medellin…and all of Colombia. Visiting now and don’t want to leave. Actually found your site looking for a place to stop going south from Santa Rosa to Cali…must keep looking!
